Fruit of the Spirit Bible study: a free 9-week guide
One fruit a week for nine weeks. Each session takes about 45 minutes: take or review the test, read the key verse, talk through three questions, and choose one small mission to practise before you meet again.
Week 0: take the test together
Everyone takes the free 2-minute Fruit of the Spirit test on their phone, then shares their strongest and growing fruit. It breaks the ice instantly and shows the group where to lean in. Retake it in week 9 and compare.
The 9 weeks
- Week 1, Love: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Who is hard for you to love right now, and what would choosing their good look like this week?
- Week 2, Joy: Philippians 4:4. What steals your joy most often? Where did you see God's goodness today?
- Week 3, Peace: Philippians 4:6-7. What do you worry about most, and what would handing it to God in prayer look like?
- Week 4, Patience: James 1:19. Where do you lose patience fastest: at home, at work, in traffic or online?
- Week 5, Kindness: Ephesians 4:32. Who around you needs a small, practical kindness this week?
- Week 6, Goodness: Philippians 4:8. Where is it tempting to cut corners when no one is watching?
- Week 7, Faithfulness: Luke 16:10. Which small promises do you tend to let slide?
- Week 8, Gentleness: Proverbs 15:1. When do your words come out harsher than you mean?
- Week 9, Self-control: Titus 2:11-12. Which habit would you most like the Spirit's help to change?
Three questions for every week
- What does this fruit look like in Jesus' life?
- Where did you see this fruit, or miss it, since we last met?
- What is one small, specific action you'll take before next week?
Why it works
Fruit grows in real moments, not just in discussion. Each week ends with one concrete mission, and the group follows up the next week. That honest, friendly accountability is what turns a good study into real change.
