What is peace in the Bible?
Peace (Greek: eirēnē) is one of the nine fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. Peace is wholeness: a settled heart with God that steadies you inside and helps you mend things with others. It isn't the absence of trouble. It's God's presence in it.
What peace looks like
- Praying instead of spiralling
- Making the first move to reconcile
- Resting without guilt
Counterfeit: Avoiding conflict by pretending everything is fine.
Opposite: Anxiety, strife and stirring things up.

3 ways to practise peace today
- Name it: Write down every worry on your mind today in Hold or Carry. Don't sort yet.
- Mine to do: Sort your worries. For each one that's yours, write the smallest next step.
- Not mine to carry: Release at least one worry that isn't yours to carry. Pray it out loud or write a one-line prayer.
In the Ninefruit app, the peace journey has five stages and its own tool, Hold or Carry: Write down a worry. Decide honestly: is there a next step that's mine to do, or is this something to hand over?
